Hi, I'm Josh. I'm the founder of BasePoint CPA, and am an experienced accounting and finance professional. I work with businesses to keep a regular pulse on their finances, providing regular guidance to help them optimize their profit, cash flow, and sustainable growth. As a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), I enjoy helping business owners see the full picture of their business, from start-up to wind-up, and how to navigate that exciting and fulfilling journey!

I always say "The numbers tell the story", and it's my goal to help businesses understand the story that their numbers are telling, so they can more effectively write the next chapters of where they want their business to go and how to get there!

How we think about business

Operating Principles

The lines we keep coming back to in the community, and that we'd put on the wall of every SMB we work with.

01

Become the least important person in your business.

The most valuable thing you can build is a business that doesn't need you in every meeting.

02

Document. Then delegate.

You can't hand off what only lives in your head. Codify first; freedom follows.

03

Good gets you on the team. Great keeps you there.

Hire to the bar you want, not the bar you have. Every new hire should raise it.

04

People pay for implementation, not information.

The internet has more frameworks than anyone needs. Execution is the moat.

05

Hire slow. Fire fast.

Most owners do the opposite. The cost of a wrong hire compounds longer than the cost of an empty seat.

06

Inspect what you expect.

Standards aren't standards if nobody checks. Build the cadence; the results follow.
