Re-Roof: Day-One Site Setup

Run this before the first shingle moves. Same sequence every job, lead foreman on site or not. Tick each box as you go.

Walk the property with the homeowner.
Access, the dog and closed gate, fragile items, where their cars go.

Photograph all four sides and the driveway.
Before any work moves. This is the proof that protects the job.

Park the trailer and bin per the site map.
Boards down first. Nothing on the exposed-aggregate driveway bare.

Tarp landscaping, the AC unit, and walkways.
Front garden beds planked, east-side AC covered before tear-off.

Set anchors and harness every crew member.
Rear slope is 8/12, tie off full time before the first shingle moves.

Stage materials at the lift point in install order.
No shuffling bundles at noon. Check the load against order A-88312.

Brief the crew.
Scope, hazards, today's sequence, and what done looks like.

Position the dump trailer under the tear-off zone.
Set before the roof opens so debris drops straight in.

Text the office: "Site set, tear-off starting."
Attach two photos. This text triggers the job file at the office.

Open the roof.
Only once steps 1 through 10 are ticked.

Rotten deck
Two sheets or fewer: replace under the exclusion line. More than two: stop, photograph, raise a change order. Homeowner signs before you cut.
Weather
Foreman calls it by 6 AM. Office tells the homeowner before 7. Nobody finds out from an empty driveway.
Short delivery
Call the Apex rep before 7:30 and re-sequence the day. Do not send the crew home over two bundles.
Close out and verify. Photos in, invoice out.
Magnetic-sweep the lawn and driveway, walk the finished roof with the homeowner, then upload final photos. They trigger the invoice and warranty letter.
